How does it introduce the characters & setting? | In the beginning of the film we can see that the main characters are presented straight away. During the beginning of the film we can see that all the characters are walking towards the same car. During the walking scene we can see that their names are being shown to the audience. The setting of the film is sunset based. | In the beginning of the film we can see that the main characters aren’t shown, however during the beginning we can see the setting that is shown throughout it. This brings the overall beginning of the movie being more full of suspense as it shows the crime pictures of the seven biggest sins. |

This introduced the themes and starts to engage the audience. Also the narrative in the film started to be displayed as it starts to show the a group of friends heading towards the car. This is because the characters are walking to a car and the sound and editing makes the audience on the edge of their seat as they want to find out what is going to happen next. | In Seven, there is a variety of technical language that is used in the film. One method that has been used is the editing of the film. During the beginning of the film, there is a lot of different methods to show crimes that have been committed and displayed. This starts to help the audience understand what has happened and gives them a sense of what the film is going to be about. The same goes with the sound. One way this is presented is the photos in the crime scenes. This creates elements of confusion for audiences as they want to find out what has happened. This leaves clues in the film which leads to the main enigmas in the film. Also this keeps audiences intrigued with what is going to happen next in the film. |
